I see a gap between the handle and blade in some of the Pics I am considering a 911 but the gap is making me lean towards the swamp rat 9. any thoughts or opinions?

I've got no gap on mine, and it shouldn't be an issue. Why would the gap bother you?

why would I pay close to 200 hundred dollars for a poorly fitted handled knife? why it would bother me would be that I can buy a nicely fitted knife for less.

In the photos on this web site it is visible so I have to ask.

afraid i don't have a 911 and I'm not sure what gap you are talking about. scrapyard makes a great product and it's hard to beat at any price with an unbeatable warranty. if you could elaborate a little more about the gap you are seeing I'm pretty sure your concerns will easily be put to rest.

while all scrapyard knives are not perfect they are certainly some of the bes you will come across in the price range. i say buy one and if you are happy I doubt you will experience any grew financial loss if you decide to let it go. I doubt it will come to that and you will more likely end up with a collection ScrapYard blades.

Not to be a wet blanket, but where is this picture with a gap handle? I'm not seeing it on the site.. Can't speak for the 911 but both SYKC knives I have with the res c handles are tightly fitted. I suggest you buy the knife, when it arrives if there is any gaping then send it back. the res c handles are freaking comfortable.

The Gap you speak of Is I am sure due to nothing more than possibly the Res-C shrinking after it has "Cured". Rest assured that the Gap is ONLY a few thousands of an inch deep. It will not have any effect at all on the knife, but the Yards Guarantee is NOT only words. If you like the 911 (I have one and LOVE it) you will be getting a bargain. If you Don't like it, you can sell it for what you paid for it or more. There is a good secondary market for Scrapyard knives.

I haven't come by a scrapyard knife that has problems or has some manufacturing flaws... I got over 15 Scrapyard knives and over over 30 knives if you count swamprat & busse knives also... Never had complaints ...

No gaps in the ones I own. The handle is more comfortable than the R9, but the R9 ain't bad either. Get both is always a good answer.

Mate, there is no gap. There is a slight recess in the handle around the hole where the tang goes in.
The handles are cast, or so it seams to me, and that would be the way the form for them is shaped.
I have no gap in any of my '11 series knives, and I have the whole line, of some more than one.

No gaps on any of mine and I even have some of the older ones. I'd like to see pictures of what lobo9er is referring to.
