Have you checked the classifieds in your local papers? I found a Benelli M4 USM Brand new for $1,600 here in SLC.

here is 1 of my 2 current 870's
i have sold my 2 previous ones posted here & revamped my lineup
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
my home defense gun started like as this one...
http://www.remington.com/en/products/fir...-blackhawk.aspx

i have since changed the stock out to a regular speedfeed "short stock " & added a limbsaver pad
[Linked Image from i4.photobucket.com]

i mainly went with this model because i liked the fact that it did not have an added on mag extension,,,i can sill get 7rds in it but w/ a 18.5" barrel..the lug is moved further out on the barrel

i found that the factory magazine spring was suprisingly week & added a vang comp heavier spring...[i also lost 1rd capacity]..when i did that i also added a vang comp stainless steel follower

Nice. I do like that. I would have to add the ghost rings though.
They make a Remington police model just like your but it comes with the Wilson combat ghost rings

Pistol grips are cool for wow factor, just make sure it has a proper buttstock if you intend on hitting anything when you pull the trigger. Just my 2 cents. I have a new 870, and the quality is okay. Swapped the extractor with a better quality one and swapped the cheap plastic followed with a stainless steel one. Happy with the outcome.

I dont want a straight pistol grip. I like them on a normal stock like my Knox spec ops NRS

oh yeah...looking at the pic..i added a vang comp jumbo safety...it makes a big diffrence if you have a buttstock w/ a pistol grip....much easier to snap the safety off...you can feel it & dont have to look down & find it

The gun forums seem to recommend vang and Wilson accessories for the 870

Nordic also has good reviews. Any thoughts?

I gave 575 for my Mossber 930 JM Pro, and seen where they are hitting shelves for about 600-650. I say go with the JM Pro because it has Nordic parts already, is threaded for chokes, and I prefer a 22" brl over a 18" right now. Eventually I may get the 18" brl, and a 26-28" brl for hunting but having 9 rds at hand is awful nice. Weight wise it is about the same as an 870 so that should not be a concern.
