I was wanting him to go either Marines or Air Force, but the Army recruiter said they could guarantee him training in what he wanted to go into, while the Marines would send him where they see fit and the Air Force would guarantee him a certain field, but not a particular job.

Navy, I don't think he wants to be on a boat for 6 months at a time. He doesn't act like it appeals to him at all.

The Army sounds like the right choice for him.

I'm hoping he is serious about it enough to make his weight and go. I think it's exactly what he needs.

I was going to ask how things were going for the two of you. Glad to hear this happened. Hopefully this will be the route he decides to take. He will learn a lot about being an adult (NO disrespect meant Todd) and responsibility.

He's gotta lose about 30 lbs. He's already lost about 20, so I know he can do it.

You could always make it a Father/son thing. That way he would have some moral and Personal support for the weight think. It's tough, I know. I fought it through about half my Air Force career.

I told him that I'd start walking with him, and playing some basketball for some exercise. I walked 7 laps around the ballfield Monday, he made it 5. But he did play basketball with some of his buddies for another hour, so I guess he made up for it.

I gotta get my back problems worked out before I do a lot though. Still hurting when I over do it.
