It looks like you are alone with your bow. I have no knowledge of different woods. But some light and flexible should be good... I guess you knew that already. If you are not going to make the points out of flint stone you could forge them. In my experience it's not too hard to learn if you have the tools.

I just used Easton 2219's but I did compound My one nephew shoots a long bow, next time I see him I will ask him

I have a few frinds who do. They use cedar arrows with glue on metal heads for hunting.

we had a memeber on here who made primitive knives and I think he mades some arrow heads out of glass bottles or something. those were pretty interesting posts. anybody remember off top who that was?

I remember someone making a copper bladed knife with a bone handle, but no, I can't remember who it was.

I shoot traditional. I use Lodgepole Pine arrows, also known as Chundoo. The are a great arrow wood.
