Ok, I'd make a run for it if Dan mentioned that 10k folks get a special doggie treat, but I think it's too far away now...

Good luck at scout camp, DT. If it's a regular BSA camp, they've got a problem with sheath knives.

That's what I figure but what are they gonna do? I'm only there one night Although I DID give my boy his first Bussekin to mark the occasion. He's working on the wilderness survival merit badge and I gave him a 'Vore for his kit.

I think a Scrapivore is a great knife - I have one myself and am waiting on Al's magic kydex to keep it from cutting me. A 1311 at scout camp would draw attention, but something much smaller would probably be fine for a night. As long as you don't start hacking things with it and yelling, "Watch this!"

We chatted a few times about not drawing attention to it, if, for nothing else, to avoid other boys becoming too interested and deciding they need it for themselves.

After seeing what my son does to machetes, I think busting a 1111 would be a welcome challenge.

Does your son own a tank? No, but he'd probably break the tracks off if he did. He's pretty hard on things. A friend bought him a nice Buck 110 knife for his 14th birthday. It's a pretty sturdy folder, but last I looked at it, it was missing the tip. When I asked what happened to it, he said that he was trying to make a hole in some wood and it broke off. I let him use a cheap machete from Harbor Freight and the blade is now filled with chips and gouges. He can be hard on knives/blades.
