So I've been lurking here for a while, but didn't feel right joining up until I actually owned a Scrap Yard knife. Well, they're not in my hands yet, but my first two are on their way! I lost patience waiting for the order page to come back, so I went on the exchange and picked up a 911 and an orange Scrapivore. (Thanks to Budthachud and Shigawire4sure!) I cannot begin to describe how excited I am for these blades. The SV will be my new EDC and will piggyback on the 911 in the field. Can't wait to beat on them! Looking forward to chilling with you guys here more often now that I'm not an outsider. smile

It's great to have you here, always nice having new faces around! The hardest post is the first, it's all downhill from here..... smile

Congrat's on the scores, I too grew impatient and ended up with one of these little guys....... wink

Nice one AFF! I think a 311 or 411 will be my next score. I almost ended up with the Zombie Slayer 911, but knew I would just end up stripping the green off of it, so I held out for a standard black one. smile Thanks for the warm welcome!

Be warned that if you strip any of the knives in the 11' series they look downright fugly underneath the coating. Lots of machining/tooling marks on the blade that would need to be ground of for a nice finish.

I see. Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep that in mind should I ever get one that I want stripped.

Like "awful" or just "not pretty"? Cause not pretty might look cool. I'll head over to a picture thread and see if I can find one...

It's sorta hard to tell from this photo, but I wouldn't say it's awful but you could never call it pretty. Somewhere's in between I reckon'..... smile

I'm also in need of a sheath, I'm probably going to talk with Gunfixr'joe about getting one made. I do find though that the tactical cardboard it came with works great for pocket carry, at least for me anyways.

Yeah, I made sure to grab a SV with a sheath, cause I knew it would kill me to finally have one of these and not be able to carry it. I've got an Azwelke taco ordered for my 911.

That actually looks just fine for a user, which mine will be. Did you force a patina on that or is that fresh out the stripper?

I ended up selling it shortly after the photo was taken, I received it in a trade with the intention of selling it to someone but then had them back out on me (dad). Some people are not knife people..... frown

welcome to the yard
when the dogs come out to howl on the death chat it can get quite entertaining
think of it as a virtual coffee shop where you can hang out and bs with friends
Nobody around here intentionally insults another, so if someone says something that upsets you, assume it was unintentional and pm them
We all like to behave as if we are sitting around a table chatting face to face
