Now I should find someone to go hunting with... I haven´t ever hunted before and might need an advice or two. There is also leagal stuff envolved. If possible you should try to find a trustworthy experienced hunter to go with

It IS nice Bill, but it was not luck that got me here. Many years of working long, lousy hours and MUCH frustration brought it about. Fortunately, my wife was totally on board with the idea of leaving the greater Chicago area to moving out to the country.

Timo, sometimes when hunting you will get excited, but NEVER forget where your muzzle is pinted and where other people are!
Hey Bill! Hope things are going well for you and yours.

I hear you Pauline and I plan to retire in the interior when my working days are over

I agree with you Bill on the 450 marlin. I was looking at the old Marlin 1895 XLR with a 24" barrel, but I didn't like the idea of the rifle being built in conjunction with the Hornady LeveRevolution cartridge. I read of many problems feeding and ejecting other .45-.70 rounds.

Good for you Bill; too many guys go out in a small group and forget about safety.

I read of many problems feeding and ejecting other .45-.70 rounds. My one brother has the identical rifle as I do, his rifle cycles normal Hornady rounds flawlessly, however it occasionally jams with the leverevolution rounds Since we bought these rifles as grizzly protection guns that just isn't acceptable

The Hornady brass is almost 1/4 inch shorter than standard brass, much like the difference between a .38 special and .357 magnum. I like the idea of being able to find and use a variety of loaeds; I agree with you about possible rifle problems in grizzly country!
