As Season 4 is about to begin, What would YOUR choice be if you could ONLY have one gun and one knife (and why) in a Walking Dead World.
Mine without to much thinking would be

 1. 357 mag short rifle
For longer distance shooting and also would allow for close in rapid shoulder or "From the Hip" if REALLY needed

 2. 911 or a BWM.
Big enough for building a life and doing a one hit stop on the Walkers.

I like the 357 lever gun idea but I would go with a Ruger 10/22! Can carry plenty of ammo, works on the Walking and Walking Dead plus on game. It also can be silenced. A 22mag would really be ideal except ammo wouldn't be as plentiful.
1311 for a blade. Long enough to dispatch from a short distance. Versatile enough to complete any other job.

My FIRST inclination was a 22. But then again I wanted to ensure that I would still have one shot stops if the placement was marginal.
For ease of carry I didn't pick the 1311 although it WOULD be the better pick I think.

I think I would pick an AK or AR rifle with ammo and mags. Deer and smaller can be taken. Anything bigger just empty the mag. If there are zombies a fast reload will save your bacon. From what I here I think the 11-11 Mayr better than the 13-11. Even though its shorter the thicker blade makes the 11-11 a stronger knife IMHO

I was going on the assumption that it would be a constant on the move scenario. Therefore light weight would be paramount, yes the 22 would be better for this but again, I wanted more dependability of one shot stops so I picked the .357.

Zombies only take a shot to the brain. I think for them the 22 is perfect. And I don't want to stop by a town to resupply ammo.

In that case then a Ruger 10/22 TD! And a Suppressor would be a nice addition. If it hits the fan HOPEFULLY "They" would leave us alone. (Or at least you could claim you thought they were Zombies)!

After Much consideration and bowing to the Logic of Vastly more Knowledgeable Dogs, Make Mine a Ruger 10/22 TD with a Suppressor.

M4 11.5inch barrel and supressor (Aussie and NZ SF issue this along with standard M4) second choice would by a G36k + supressor (I am issued one of these at times now so I know it well) and for a blade... .22 ASH1
