wanting to scope my rifle. deciding between rings or a picatinny rail. think ive made up my mind. why have irons sights on a rife if you cant ever use them? so i think quick detach rings are the way to go. the rail eight small screws that would sit under the rings. getting it off to use the irons means taking everything off.

You could always go "shoot thru" sights. But that would raise the scope up pretty high...

i haven't even seen any look through or see through mounts or rings for the cz527. they have a unique 16mm base so you dont see many people wih rings.i think the qd is the way to go. they are twice as much as the permanent mount rings but i figure I'll get more from the rifle if I can just take the scope off an plink whenever I want to.

I sighted in my .45-.70 with iron sights, and I'm hoping to nail a few deer that way.
