I've seen that. I have a Cold Steel Steel Tiger and really like it. It isn't an expensive knife either.
If the Honshu has a good heat treat it will do you well. If not, NO knife with an improper heat treat is good.

I got into Emersons because my first one, the cqc7 spearpoint only cost me $100.00 and it was all down hill from there.

I like the Cold Steel Tiger also. But there is one thing that bothers me. I did a little bit of training with a friend who is a FMA instructor. And the karambit is for very close quarters. I am not confident that my reflexes are good enough at my age to handle that kind of a situation. I would rather be further away from my adversary and use something else. And use the karambit as a backup.

I DO agree with you there Ray. But not being a CCW holder (Yeah I know, but it's a personal choice) Mine IS for very close can't hide it's gonna happen no matter what kind of a situation. IF there is ANY way possible, I won't be put in a situation where I can't hide, or some way or other make myself appear to be non threatening.

I try to have a good situational awareness whenever I am out of the house. Don't like having some people too close to me. And I am not profiling. I don't like anybody (except my family) too close.

YUP, I am always looking around, specially when I am in unfamiliar territory. I walk around with my hand in my pocket, and my index finger is in the ring. It (the fixed blade) fits in my pocket real well and I can draw it with the sheath catching on the back edge of of my pocket and stays in the pocket.

I guess You could say I profile (suspect) everyone that I don't know. Not being paranoid, just aware.

AND with that thought we're off to a local fish house for some fish and shrimp for lunch!
Tata Dogs. Peace and rest to you and all those you care for. Situational awareness is a way of life. Just ask MB.
