You're getting multiple types of answers, reflective of the question needing clarification:

If the question is "The RMD is the most famous Swamp blade, what is the Yard's most famous blade?" Then the answer is the Dogfather.

If the question is "The RMD is the Swamp's most versatile all arounder blade, what is the equivalent in the Yard?" Then probably the 411.

If the question is "What Yard blade most resembles the RMD?" Then THAT answer is the SS5. It's blade profile, size, and shape is nearly identical to the RMD, with the addition of a thumb ramp and a different handle (IMO the mudder handle is the most comfortable of the Yard handles, so from THAT perspective, ALSO the Yards "RMD") grin

The RMD just stands out from the rest of the Rats and is a great all around knife. I have to say that the 411 is in that same spot for the Dogs.

Lots of grown men weeping and wailing when the 411 dropped off the website and it looked like there wouldn't be anymore.

And it does a pretty good job of cutting into 55 gal tin cans.

don't see much mention of the SOD any more but when i for a good while after i joined this forum i though it was "THE" knife from the yard. seems like the DogFather stayed top dog but you just don't see many of them any more.

the MUK was it for me. i'm hoping like all get out that dan will take some of this thin SR101 he found and make a new MUK. maybe a MUTTMUK or something....

I disagree. The blade shape of the Dumpster Mutt is nearly identical to that of the RMD. Blade thickness is the only difference. I had a Blade Show DM a few years back that was the same thickness as the RMD. Only the handle and blade steel were different. I should've never gotten rid of that knife.

I agree, the dumpster mutt is very similar in blade profile to the RMD. It reminds me of a scaled down camp tramp.

I am surprised the 7-11 hasn't generated more love. I like the 7-11 far better than the RMD. To me its more useful and more of a jack of all trades to me.

Thats probably my favorite doeverything knife. But not an EDC.

DT is right I misunderstood the question. The Yards RMD is probably the DogFather, the 7-11 is Great alla round camp knife, BUT the upcoming Mudd Mutt looks like it will be sweet and may be a true Res-c rival to the RMD. We'll have to test it out though
