Finger grooves are good in a forward or reverse grip, as long as the finger grooves are not held facing your palm. I am no expert, but If you can get it without the finger grooves, that would be my choice.

Well like I said unless you use it (much) with your fingers around the spine of the handle with the blade facing your body it should be a good one from the looks of it. I've got a few axis locks and really like them. Have you looked at the Griptilians?

I would think that any non-sheepfoot style blade would work for you, but I wouldn't get it if it wasn't a solid handle.
