Afternoon dogs. It's been a steady drizzle since early this morning. Hopefully it will wash away some of this snow.

Of those three calibers I don't think any would be great for a first time shooter especially in a light weight rifle So if a 357 barrel is your end goal, I would just pick which one is easiest to convert (i know nothing about the H&R rifles) or whatever one has the easiest ammo to find cbc is correct. we are allowed to use .35 or larger caliber single shot rifle like the ones made by h&r during our "primitive weapons" season. purchasing one would gain me an extra 4 weeks to hunt. my preference would actually be to locate a .357 h&r rifle but they are not to be found at this time. i'm also making this purchase with a gift card so i'm limited to what is in inventory. so far i have only seen .35 whelen, .444, and 45/70 that qualify for my uses. i will likely purchase a .357 barrel or this frame at a later date. i also hope to have this around as a "buddy rifle" for others who may want to go hunting with me during regular season. lazi, are you sure they aren't talking about a late season muzzle loading season?

how's things for you up that way? A little wet but not bad otherwise. The roads are clear but they might ice up overnight if the temperature drops.
