Finally busted a cull buck…freaky looking dear with only two deformed points on the left side, and a full, normal looking 4 points on the right (of what would normally be on a typical 8-point). Anyhow, got a chance to break out the Bog Dog. Got a little dirty. Oooiii…that 5.56 TSX does some damage. Who says you can't hit a heart with a 4 moa Red Dot? ![[Linked Image from i99.photobucket.com]](http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l287/Izhmash/IMG_3016_zps0ce4844a.jpg) Bog Dog did great gutting this dear. Love the FFG, and the large choil is no issue for me…MUCH preferred over the small elf choils (more to come on that). I ended up using my 340 to skin and process the meat off this buck. Primarily, because I got the 340 late last season, and have not yet had a chance to use it for deer hunting. Needless to say, I was just disappointed. The choil caught on the meat constantly…had me wishing I had my Gene Ingrams. The 340 will go on the exchange…can't see a need for "me" to keep it. It will make a good home with someone else. Once home…I cooked up the tenderloins fresh…never frozen! Just baked them (trying to keep it healthy)…not the best way, but felt good eating them (it's 28 outside in Austin freakin Texas…give me a break….too cold to grill. ![[Linked Image from i99.photobucket.com]](http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l287/Izhmash/photo-2_zps8f3aaca6.jpg) After I washed up…decided to make a PB&J for Lucas. He was grateful, and this solidified the Bog Dog in my lineup. Both the 340, and the CABS LE, will go to new homes. Additionally…don't think I'll be needing a Mud Mutt after all ![[Linked Image from i99.photobucket.com]](http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l287/Izhmash/photo_zps040d8687.jpg) Nevermind the drugs, paper plates, etc. It's all prop Well, the drugs are for our 15 yr old dog…to help her heart work better. Night, Dogs!

Swamp Rat D2 is easily my favorite knife steel. So far so good…Oh, I forgot to mention…I "battened" it through the breast plate using a dead piece of wood. Still sliced the tenderloin like nothing for dinner. Yummm. I might have to pick up another. Still can't believe I caught this one

Nice shot placement I bet you didnt have walk all over heck to find him did you. He went all of 10 yds…did a circle and basically ended up within about 2 feet of where I shot him. hehe.

Nice Ish- I keep forgetting you scored that BD.
How far out did you make your shot?

How far out did you make your shot? It was ~70-80 yds...didn't walk it off, but around there. Not a long shot, by any means...and I had a rest as well, so it was like taking candy from a baby. Candy Backstraps, that is

In regards to choils, I prefer larger ones to elf choils, but I'll take no choil at all over a large choil. This is main reason I passed on the Mud Mutt.
That heart shot with a 4 moa red dot from 80 yards is impressive, rest or no rest. What optic were you using?

That heart shot with a 4 moa red dot from 80 yards is impressive, rest or no rest. What optic were you using? I've gotten very used to the large choils...on the mid-size blades, at least...4+". Not sure why...it just feels natural to me. I like my short little GI's for hunting needs, without any choil for certain. They are 3-3.5" range, and with a purpose (but could certainly be used otherwise). I haven't been able to warm up to the CABS. Maybe it's too long to be without a Choil for me, and my grip doesn't naturally fit with the no choil? I don't know. If it had mudder grips, and not black paper full tang...might be a completely different story!! The profile is great...but I still put the Bog Dog above it on my list. Of all things, like that the BD doesn't have the nuclear meltdown treatment also. Aimpoint T-1....sitting on my quiet little BCM. Only change recently, my Dad got me a BADASS selector for Christmas, that I promptly installed. Liking it
