picked up a 45/70 h&r single shot so that adds another 3 weeks i can hunt this season. adds about a month and a half over all next season if the rules stay the same. Classic cartridge my friend wasn't sure i wanted to keep the 45/70 barrel but after reading a bit about the round and seeing what a wallop it can pack i think it'll be good to have around. i think it will be a good meat getter over the years.

Have you tried it yet Lazi? the h&R? nope i haven't shot it yet. i'll probably run by the gun show and see if i can find some ammo for it. you may get a bit of sticker shock on the cost of ammo but its not like you are sending 200 rounds down range at a sitting.
