Din,
What are you going to do with your UV light, first? take it to the movie theater with some high contrast glasses, see what's on the seats! are you feeling any better this a.m., mike?

I haven't seen my passport since I returned from Greece a few years ago. I guess I need to get a new one. Planning a trip din?

I want one for finding and photographing organisms which fluoresce under UV light.

mike, I know you were concerned about the water resistance of a UV light, so I was thinking about how much weight is an issue for you. they're very compact, so I was wondering if it would be possible just to toss one in something waterproof if it isn't going to be your primary light, and just keep your regular light out? I'm sure you have some gear you have to keep isolated from moisture while you're making your way to various sites.

I'm not feeling awful. Just the mild first stages of a cold. No big deal, just not the sort of condition I want to be in for a "kamikaze" photo trip.
Thanks for asking.

I want one for finding and photographing organisms which fluoresce under UV light. here's the one I bought, but they make one with 5 LEDs that looks like it would have a much better throw.

you're welcome. just make sure to eat hearty. it's important to get enough calories when you have a metabolism like we do, especially this time of year.

That's a cool light, Din.
I'm not sure how much throw I need. My subjects will often be fairly close, but hard to find. Some of them will be under water, which will cause some light loss.
