Look into the MkIII Hunter model. Still able to scope it, but it reloads quickly and mags are plentiful. I have a MkII and love it. I can hit a squirrel in the head at 25 yards pretty easily with it, and it's a much better shot than I am.

If I could figure out how to thread an LCR in 22lr, I'd have one.
Interested in which path you decide on, and why.

I have an older version of the same Ruger .22 revolver. The pros are that it is easy to teach someone how to use. It was a gift from my grandfather.
If I was purchasing new today, I would get a Mark III type Ruger in stainless. You do have mags to deal with, but they are accurate little beasts.

S&W41 in an auto is hard to beat. As are any of the K22s and even the newer k frame .22s they make. I have a Colt Officers Model Match that is as accurte as a rifle (I can bounce empty .22 boxes around all day long one handed at 25yds with it) and built like a tank. Both my 41 and Colt are older than me....

I wasn't aware colt made a 1911 22lr. I can't find it on their web site ..... the OMM is a double action revolver built on the same frame as the Trooper ... They no longer make them but they are around. And they are almost impossible to wear out..!! Lord knows I have tried...

I have a pre-lock S&W Model 17 with a 6" brl. It is double/single action, great sights, fast, fits the hands, carry is easy in cross draw holster, and accurate. I have shot everything from CB caps, .22 Colobi, .22 short, .22 long, and .22 lr through it. Give the older Smiths a look.

I shoot a Model 617 sometimes, it's a great gun and very accurate. The Model 41 is awesome too, but at the prices they bring I'll take the Ruger MkII Slabside that I have now.
