$15-20 dollars I would guess. Based on a knife I sent CoyoteBC.

Thanks guys I've not bought a Scrap Yard knife for ages, so I'd be looking at about $100 all in for the 311 then.
Any other comments on the 311, I never seem to hear much about them ?

I didnīt like mine at all! Just sold it this morning on ebay.
The handle blade ratio is not at all for me. It dosenīt feel or lokk right.
EDCs in this length I can recommend from ym own experience (just the fixed ones):

411 (quite thick handle depending where you want to carry it)
Rident Solution (quite heavy but great look and ergonomics)
Esee 3 (My all time favourite, slim, waranty, ergonomics, light...you name it)

I like the blades that short to be thin. That's why I never ordered a 311, just because the blade looks too thick to suit me on a knife that short.

Too much handle for the blade ?

Pit, as you are prone to "Walk about" with just one small blade a lot of times, I personally think the 311 would work out quite well for you. Yes, it's about .185 inch thick and has a longer handle than most "Factory" knifes this size. But that lends itself to being used for MANY tasks, tasks that a smaller handle just may not allow to well. I don't think you could destroy, or even cripple this blade. And yes you could thin it out some behind the edge.

I at first thought it was way to thick for regular mundane tasks, slicing lunch meat, spreading mayonnaise and such, but it does do that and so much more. And best thing is if you didn't like it after giving it a go, you could always sell it to another countryman. As the commercial used to say, "Try it, you'll like it". (Maybe) grin

Different strokes.... I picked up 4 of them. 1 for each of my boys and two for me. I love the little buggers. They are stout, lightweight and with some work on the edge, they are mean little cutters. Coupled with an Opinel or a Sak, you have a nice, compact set of tools. They also fill in as a backup tool to a pistol on the bat belt.
