theres some gun freaks here and some hunters...can anyone tell me the difference between rimfire and centerfire... i mean, i know WHAT it is like rimfire the primer is on the rim and centerfire the primer is in the center... but what difference does it make? isn't one better for hunting or something?

Rimfire ammo is cheaper to manufacture in small case sizes like 22. No seperate primer has to be installed in the case, just a coating of primer explosive inside the base of the case. Rimfires are popular for pest control and small game. One of the newer rimfire calibers, the 17 HMR is accurate to well over 200 yds with a tiny precision made bullet. The first Smith&Wesson revolver that used a complete cartridge was a .22 rimfire.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Right. But don't forget that they are as deadly as any other caliber. A little .22 rimfire will kill you just as dead as a .458 Win Mag. Years ago, when America was more rural, just about every home had a .22 rifle for shooting chicken snakes, rats, foxes, rabbits, squirrels and even for killing hogs when the time came. I got my first .22 when I was about 11 years old, after a few years of learning safety and shooting skills with a BB gun.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

My grandfather was talking about how all the kids would bring their .22's to school so they could go hunting after. Times sure have changed.
