Some of the so-called gnostic stuff may be as old as those books that made it into the NT. We have no original sources for them either, as Dr. Bart Ehrman has pointed out. It is not all second century wierdness. Thomas may even be the mysterious 'Q' or source that was common to Mark and Luke, the proto-gospel. It may not be. The message is not so much who Jesus is or what he did, but what he actually taught. The way. Of course, those with a vested interest in maintaining the "orthodox" version of Christianity have a different view. The first Christians may have been gnostics of a sort. The path to enlightenment was a kind of knowing. I highly recommend this book to anyone who does not already think he has all the answers about the message of Yeshua.

My last good read was "Inspected by #11". I think he inspected my last knife! Dan, hope you are doing well since your bad week a while back. I have barely been on the forum due to travel. Hope all is well with you! I am doing better this week. Thanks for asking!! How have you been? I can't complain. The weather is good in VA, I am healthy and so is the fam, I have blades, booze and cigars. What more could one ask for. Did you give your dad his S6 yet? Or were you waiting for fathers day? You should post pix of the moment! We need some more of your adventures posted. No new digs?

Funny story pertaining to your personal masseuse comment. We had a sort of 'personal masseuse' that was my wife's co-worker. He was working on his massage therapy license and needed to give hundreds of hours of free massages before he could get certified. The kicker was he was very flaming. That was a very strange dilema to be in, get free massages from a gay man. So I cringed when you mention personal masseuse. I'll take an SS4 over a personal masseuse. The other kicker was that he was once in the Marine Corps!!!

Carlos Hathcock "Whitefeather" by Roy F Chandler That was an incredible book. Its amazing what that guy could endure and still make the shot. Indeed. I have a part of interview from him talking about his days in Vietnam. A very simple, quiet and capable man.

I want to read "Whitefeather" now. The worlds highest scoring sniper is from Finland with over 500 confirmed kills in the Winter war against the USSR. The russians called him the white death. He also got about 150 other kills with a submachine gun. When he was sniping he never used a scope just iron sights so he could keep lower to the ground. He actually got his backpack and back of his jacket blown off by artillery fire. The USSR used a lot of snipers including women. Some of them were totally hot as well. This former kindergarten teacher had a similar number of kills as Carlos. ![[Linked Image from img2.putfile.com]](http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/5/12419282796.jpg) The longest lethal shot by a sniper was by a canadian forces soldier in afganhistan. He hit a Taliban at 2500 meters or more than a mile.
