Here's the LM vs 411 for size comparison...

IT IS AWESOME!

All joking aside, I have it with me today. It truly is a fantastic knife. I read quite a few threads about the "best Busse EDC" and the Meaner series was favored by many posters that I'm familiar with. After getting the first one (which I safe queened) I wanted one to actually carry. However, there are many others that I wanted so I flaked and told Messer I'd take the B4LE instead (it was a little less money). I couldn't handle letting the LM escape so I asked him if I could switch and pay the difference. Being a super guy he allowed me to do so.

If you get a chance to pick up a Leaner - DO IT! I absolutely LOVE this knife!

That harsh Arch- harsh I say! wink grin

It's such a great looking blade too. When push comes to shove, 1/8" or so thick is a lot of steel really and can take a beating.

Question though- How is the thickness of the handle at your index finger feel compared to that 411?

Can't complain about the Winkler Belt Knife I picked up instead though- fantastic blade with the attitude I was looking for! cool

RN,
Interesting question.

I'm passing between them now...

Overall the 411 fills the hand better, but the index finger area feels cramped. I always find myself choking up on the 411, and sticking my finger in the generous choil area.

The LM feels like a more svelte and precise instrument. The index finger area is more comfortable.

Conclusively:

The 411 feels like better with a "closed grip" (stabbing fist with a knife stuck in it).

The LM feels better with a "finesse grip" (more like when holding a writing instrument with the index finger pad positioned behind the choil/talon hole).

I'm not sure this makes sense?

does to me! Helps me feel better about it too. knives that have more slender handles up front are harder for me...feel like I need to grasp them harder. I've been liking fuller handles like the Koyote And Winkler I posted in the other thread.

Thanks for teasing it out for me!

Thanks for the Pics Gary. Now I have a prospective on the actual size of the LM. Now I gotta go look at S5 LE's. smirk

The Swamp Warden is great! Got one cord wrapped and one with Ben's scales. He did a FANTASTIC job with those!

I also have a 'vore that rides in my edc bag and am Izzy in my pack. They are all great blades. If I slip one in my pocket, it's most likely to be the Swamp Warden. If I were going for slimmest, most minimal, I'd take the 'vore. BTW, the orange coated 'vores I've found to be the most hand friendly. Dan made some improvements to the 'vore after its initial release. THe first ones REALLY bit into the hand, but after a few months (and I assume some feedback), they started rounding the corners a bit more. Never had any issues using a newer 'vore. Great little blade.

All three are great. Not a bad word about any of them. The fact that I have TWO Swamp Wardens does say something though.... wink

Oh, my boys also both have 'vores, although one won't know about his till his Bday in October. Both have custom sheaths with a carved Pitbull on the front and their initials on tje back. Brain is slipping on who I got them from...

Girls will both be getting pink Izzys when they are old enough. Got Kryptoglow scales to go with.
