Sword on S77 is a great idea. But please make it like the traditional sword handle/blade proportion. AK47 is a wakizashi size but the handle is too long. Yeah it's a beautiful sword but I'd rather like sth more traditional proportion.

I would also prefer a more traditional proportion. I also think that an SR77 sword would be fantastic. I may not buy one if the price is too high, but I sure would like one.

I agree a classic waki proportion 'sword' in sr77 would be very handy.
I believe the smachete was developed by Captains Sykes and Fairbairn after they did the classic Brit 'Commando dagger'. I think the name comes from the fact that they said once a soldier got the thing in his hand he knew exactly what it was for and how to use it... Literally it was a fighting "machete" for "smashing" the enemy on the 'Atlantic wall' of France...

I'd like to see someone break one of Dan or Jerry's knives! They are not indestructible, but it takes some effort with: a long pipe, a vice, and a heavy set man with a bad attitude towards good knives. Sykes and Fairbain really new their stuff. S7 is what some of the worlds best custom katanas are made from. I have a hunch the reason Scrapyard knives are so tough is the heat treat is done so the S7 steel forms bainite. I would like to see a tactical wakizashi from the yard. 15 inch blade and a 7 inch handle. It should have a real convex edge. I have a cheness 9260 kat that is pretty tough but I would give the scrapper the edge. You also could not have a deadlier weapon in a confined space than a wak.

I would love to see a wakizashi from Scrap Yard in S7.
I never went for the AK47 because of the price. I just can't justify that kind of price.
So for me, the price has to be reasonable!!!
I don't personally know about the balance and feel of the AK47 as I have never handled it. But, I prefer a blade that is quick and nimble while being super tough. I prefer something that handles well with one hand. I don't need a two handed long grip (I don't really care for a two handed grip).
To me something with a blade around 13" - 15" sounds about nice to me. - Just fast, nimble and tough! (with a very secure grip!!!)
Convex edge would probably be my preference, but I could probably be fine with flat grind, just not hollow grind.
Blade thickness around .25" and blade height around 1.25" or so (???)

I prefer "SATIN" blades!!!

I love my AK-47 and sheath and would still probably buy a scrapyard sword. ![[Linked Image from web.mac.com]](http://web.mac.com/tedwilson/iWeb/Khukuris/Leather%20sheath%20and%20khuks_files/IMG_1285.jpg)
