Good afternoon Yard. We finally received some rain and cooler temps ; neither will last long but they are certainly welcome. They help reduce the danger of wildfires which has really been high around here.

I think I'm going to go for a 911 tonight ; slightly different due to a squared off choil as opposed to a round one. Sale starts at 8 p.m. CST, 9 p.m. EST.

Afternoon Yard!

I'm enjoying our cooler weather it was 39 this morning. I'm hoping the yard is dry enough to mow soon.

I have been avoiding leaving the homestead since the State Fair is in town and traffic is not nice.

I had some guy run into the side of my truck this morning with his trailer. Then he refused to stop.

Thankfully it hit my rear tire and the step and didn't get into the body of the truck.

Nothign knife related except I kinda want to pop the tires on his truck but I have managed to refrain

Sure is quiet around here. I hope things will liven up in the Yard ; it would be nice to hear from some of our fellow Dogs.

Got my Cardio rehab done for the week and had to go to Walmart. Then had to drag everything inna house. It got up to 105. I M Whupped.

What’s even more surprising is I wasn’t gonna do it! It was Patty's idea to turn around and go back and get the gun. AND to stop by the NFA dealer as well. But she didn’t realize I don’t (for now) do anything other than fill out the form 4473 in order to buy a can. THANK YOU GOA and all the others that sued.

Jerry had a "name the knife" contest going but it's closed after 23 pages of suggestions. The subject knife is a steak knife that looks pretty sweet.

I have been contemplating a “Walter Mitty” Ruger 10/22 build for some time. I “Wanted” a Ruger 10/22 SBR Takedown and was thinking about putting a ported 12 inch integrally suppressed barrel on it. (The same barrel concept as the MP5SD). Then I thought I’m WAY too old to be playing Walter Mitty.

So today I hitched up my big boy pants and got a good (I feel) deal AND a suppressor to boot.

I got Ruger’s 10/22 carbon fiber (model number 30214) AND a SilencerCo Sparrow 22lr suppressor for $775.00. Now all I gotta do is find the right scope for her (she’s wearing a Vortex Venom RDS at the moment.

I’ve been looking at scopes for the last couple hours and THINK I have settled on the Athlon Neos 4-12x40mm BDC 22 Rimfire (or the 3-9). It’s got great reviews and Grok says it even beats out the Vortex scope it is comparable to. Plus here a while back DT said he was thinking about getting one. High praise if you ask me.

So I MIGHT here pretty quick be getting the 3-9 or the 4-12. Probably 3-9 as it will be no more than a 100 yard gun for me at the extreme limit.

I’ll let you know how it turns out.

P.S. I had originally passed on the rifle as I was gonna work on a trade. Patty put the nix on that so we went back to the gun store. THEN she said “I know you’ll want a suppressor” so you might as well stop by the NFA dealer as well. Well lo and behold, they had them on sale! I LOVE SAVING MONEY.
