SkunkHunter Junk Yard Dog Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 116,135 S. E. Missouri	One Item the I have never seen listed in any FAK is a Styptic pencil. Yeah you know, the white kinda hard looking burns like crazy on a cut thingy. For you younger folks (and Ray, the poor soul) it is what USED to be in about every household. When you would cut yourself you would just slightly wet the end of the "Pencil" and then rub it all over the cut and the bleeding would be stopped. I had to use mine once again when I scratched myself pretty good and it would just "seep" blood. Once again for all you younger folks (and Ray, seeing as how he has never cut himself shaving) this what it is. The main ingredient in a styptic pencil is anhydrous aluminum sulfate; an agent that restricts blood flow, allowing a cut to close quickly. Last edited by SkunkHunter; 05/27/20 06:59 PM.
