i have to disagree. i really like the mag block. i have a swisstool spirit. takes no time to get a good pile with the metal file. wind is a big problem, but digging a little or laying your firewood in a perimeter takes care of that.
you don't even have to mess around with a perimeter. just scrape the filings onto some duct tape or half of a band-aid.
