1.) Knife should be 5 to 7 inches in length (no blade coating since it could be used for food preparation) 2.) Thick enough for general camp chores but able to skin game & fish 3.) I'd suggest a drop point with a blade 1 to 1 1/4 inches in width with a gut hook integrated into the rounded choil 4.) The first 2 inches on the spine/back of the blade should have an integrated saw for sawing (duh) or scaling fish 5.) The butt of the handle should be a chuck of steel which could be used for nailing/pounding (a thick Res C handle with a slab of steel at the end/butt cap) 6.) It wound not matter to me which company made this knife (Busse, Swamp Rat or Scrap Yard)
