Vic, any chance of a chop off comparing the BWM and the DFLE? I am still undecided on this knife...I rather think I have this area covered...but would be interested to know how those two perform?

I'm sure I'll get around to it. But I am biased when it comes to choppers. I like the DFLE best no matter what out chops it! It is light, rugged, beautiful, and comfortable to use. What else could you want in a chopper?

Yes I agree, I love the DFLE and my Basic 9 which is slightly smaller, they are both around 16/17oz's and work so well in the light-weight catagory I am not sure I would go for the BWM if given the choice between the two as it is slightly heavier at around 22 oz's...if I want a heavier knife than the DFLE I tend to go straight for a thinned down NMFBM...which probably gets the most use of all my large choppers...that and a Hossum...both are in the 12 inch longer blade size which I prefer and the Hossum again is only 17oz's...maybe I will hang on and see if a NMBWM is done with a longer blade...it is getting to the point now where I find it hard to pick from what I have and they all work so well it gets rather confusing as to what to chose... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

The thing I keep telling myself though is I nearly did'nt get a CG NMFBM or a CG NMSFNO until right at the last minute and if I am honest I probably like the weight and feel of them better than many...
