That is true. The Defence 4 is the Danish military issue bag.
But other countries' military use it too, I believe.

When talking sleepingbags, you can have even the best sleeping bag in the world, and feel cold, if your sleeping mat is not good enough.


Having only one pancake, leaves more room for bacon!

I totally agree.

I'd rather have one layer below me than two layers above. I've had hypothermia and it was the result from cold and wet earth sucking the heat from my body.

I use a Down Marmot bag for Winter and a Snugpak Softie 3 for the other seasons. A prefer lighter weight gear.

I use the Snugpak SF1 and SF2. 1 is for indoor and warm summer nights, and the 2 is for colder weather. You can also zip them together as a one bag.

Wool blankets can work great.
However, when temperatures drop, and if you do not have a long fire going in front of you, you need to carry a lot of weight in wool, in order to keep warm.
