Lazi,
I wasn't passing judgement on people who KNOWINGLY buy L3 guns and gear. I was passing judgement on those who argue it's "just as good as" L4 and L5 guns and gear.

If you're a. L1 guy and that works for you - awesome - more money for something else you're more interested in.

I drive a BASE model vehicle. If they made a lower level model I'd buy it. I wear clothes from WalMart and the clearance rack at other Dept Stores. We don't have cable TV, go on vacations, go out to eat or see movies. We chose to spend on other stuff. To me, I'd rather have one top quality rifle than three lower quality rifles and three weekends of "going out". That's my life view.

YMMV (your mileage may vary) fits here.

There is a reason there have been countless Marlin 60 rifles sold. Most people don't want to spend $1000 on a Volquartsen (myself included). However, if I saw a need for a super accurate semi auto 22LR I might consider one. This isn't because I'm wealthy or flashy or a brand snob. I'm far from all of these things. It would be a result of me prioritizing my life long hobby above something else.

Gary, don't worry, the new sights front AND rear will both be metal. I reckon I will just have my local GS to order and install them for me. He'll only charge me 10 bucks to put them on. THEN I think I will go ahead and get my CCW at some time. I can get it (good for 5 years) for $78.00 cause I work for the Sheriff's office. That includes the Mandatory class and the CCW fee.

Then, WHAT do I actually carry?

I can carry a:

1. .45acp
2. 9mm
3. .40S&W
4. .380 acp
5. .32 acp
5. Hi-Standard 22WMR Derrenger. grin
6. 357 Mag three inch 5 shooter

Truly I wish I had another "Commander length" 45acp.
Maybe I should consider trading my SIG P220 for something.

Didn't have a DW to rent but the ones in the case sure felt better than sig springfield and colt. And felt on par with the ED brown. Only better ones to my judgment was the Night hawks.

I will probably end up with a DW specialist. And eventually a NH

Well make that about 29 years. I forgot I had one of the 357s since 1985.

Cool... I didn't want to seem offended or trying to argue. I got want you meant though. I just wanted to add my perspective as a low L3. I could buy all the L4-L5 type gear I want but in my hands it's still L3 at best.

And I still haven't figured out my next purchase. I was set on either a VZ2008 or the SAR B6P.

The price on the B6P keeps going up and down $20 so I may just go with the Witness P. The VZ is just going for such a good price I figure I should get one while they last.
