Yep, sorry about that. I hear Versamax and I don't think tactical.

Fair enough, thanks for the input guys! I was at my local rip-off... I mean Specialty Sports, and they had a (hardly) used Benelli M2 for about 1 Thousand. being a blowback, it will probably beat me up quite a bit more than one of the gas guns, but it's in the running for consideration.

GD, The tang safety is a big turnoff for me with Mossies as well, it's tough to reach with anything but a sporting stock, and even then I still have to sacrifice a solid grip on the controls to disengage it... and when seconds count...

FFP takes a little getting use to if you're use to the reticle staying the same size. However, after you've used a FFP for a while you'll never want to go back.

Don't discount the Benelli M1. Its built sturdier than the M2, and uses the same inertia system. I bought my first Benelli M1 Super 90 in 1994 and still have one I bought in 1996. Over the span of that time I've owned quite a few M1, M2 and M3. I don't care for the M3. The "pump" location is too far out for a non orangutang. The M2 is just a cheaper-to-manufacturer M1.

The M2 will have more recoil than an 1187 (for example) and more than a M1 due to the "lighter" (ie: cheaper) plastic is better craze. The new "ComforTech" stocks do work, however.

I've had four or five Remington 1187. Two worked great, the rest ... well.... not so great. They're strictly hunting guns, IMO. I wouldn't want a Remington gas gun if I was on a two-way range.

My M1 Super 90 is so fast I can unload the magazine before the first shell his the ground. EVERY M1S90 I've owned ran 100% with the lightest loads I could find.

I don't have enough experience with my M2 to comment.

The M3 is just a beastly tank.

The Remington 1100 is a turd.

I run this one it does just fine for trap single and doubles. It also burns through a mag as fast as you can pull the trigger. just make sure you get the latest version as the older ones didn't like trap loads.

I agree with Gary. A M1S90 would be my choice before. M2 or M3

Yes it is modeled after the older 1100 action which appears to be more reliable than the current gen for what ever reason.

Well sounds like you got something you like!

I guess I'm still holding out for a benelli. Gosh I miss guiding.

I don't know... I want a SCAR17 but I'm seriously considering a KelTec RFB and using the rest of the funds to get some decent glass if/when I sell my SLR107
