Just checked out a CZ 97bd...it's pretty big, but very manageable. Nice gun to me...but then I like CZs! They had like 10 Dan Wessons too...oh mama....they are nice!

Sorry to hear about the range trip. I've been trying to make a trip myself. I can see how it would suck to get there and not be able to shoot.

Congrats! It sounds like you are working up a nice AR rifle.

I've been seeing a few pop up online. The prices haven't been that bad either. I think I'd send a 97b to CZ's custom shop before I spent the coin a DW. But man they are nice!

Is it just me are firearm and ammo prices dropping slightly online?

I hope so. I wouldn't mind picking up a case of .308 and a case of 7.62x39 in a couple months.

Yep all high end parts going in this AR. Will be about $1700 completed.

I plan on a DW specalist next year

Well I spent the better part of a day getting copper fouling out of the .375..... frown By comparison the .308 cleaned up in about 15mins.

Earmuffs. I've always used non-powered muffs along with foam inserts for range shooting. Great for hearing protection but I'm at a huge disadvantage when someone tries to talk. So I've been doing some research into the electronic ear muff market.

Wow, there’s a lot of companies that want me to buy their products. The weak point of all of these muffs seems to be that you have to suffer db protection loss if you want to use electronic ear muffs with a rifle.

For instance a set of Howard Leight Impact Sport (22db noise reduction rating) for $48 vs Howard Leight Impact Pro (30bd NRR) for $68. It would seem a no-brainer to spend the extra $$$ to get the extra protection, but a major complaint is that the Impact Pro's are larger and interfere with a cheek weld associated with rifle shooting.

I would like to spend less than $300 for a quality set of electronic muffs, but they would have to be high on the quality chart for that kind of money.

I use the sports because they are the only electronic muffs that work with my cheek weld on my AR, I have been super happy with them and have nothing bad to say after a year.

I haven't seen a BD version for a bit...think it makes sense to have continuity in the handguns for me with the decocker. Already started to sort the knives "Ok, what can be sold?"

My Cabelas has a Heritage...man, that is drool worthy! cool
