I always dropped mine to the side to avoid crotch slap. I do like Vikings slings though very well thought out and they seem to be made well.

I like a single point in a vehicle with an SBR and/or if I am going in to clear a building and coming right out.

For longer affairs I currently use a 3 point but at times its like trying to fight an Octopus.

I hear good things about the VTAC.

Being an engineer 90% of my operations where mounted so that may be where my affinity for the single point comes from.

Right after 9/11 I was tasked with securing a large vital facility. On the first 12 hour shift I decided I was going to use a nice single point. Most was walking stairs and catwalks.

By the end of the day I was tired and it felt like the boys had gone a full round with Tyson.

LOL, It was miserable. I chose poorly wink

Yeah agreed three points are clumsy and single point is really only handy for CQB & mounted work.

I use the Magpul MS3 sling on my tactical rifles. I love being able to switch back and forth between single and two point rapidly. I sewed a single point sling into something similiar a while back.. someone from Magpul must have seen my idea...

I just couldn't warm up to the Magpul. I wanted to like it but I couldn't. I can put a simple clip on a VTAC to do the same or clip the front to the ASAP plate.

One of my friends stopped by the office and brought in a load of slings that he uses and I am pretty sure I made the right choice. The VTAC then VCAS for my needs.

I will be waiting at the mailbox like a kid at Christmas for the rest of the week until everything gets in.

Anyone use GG&G rings ??

http://www.gggaz.com/30mm-sniper-grade-scope-rings.html

Looking at a set to mount my MKIV on the SSG but know nothing about them. I can't get MKIV Leupold rings here at the moment frown

They have a good reputation as a company but I've never used them.

Got the upper in. I did have to switch out bolt carriers. I forgot this was the old AWB Colt receiver so I just traded carriers out from the H-Bar Upper and kept the BCM Bolt.

I have a few things still coming in but I'm keeping this one simple.
