Three lowers, no uppers to put on them. Thinking of an 18" stainless 1:8 twist free floated quad rail for coyotes ground hogs, and the ability to run bigger bullets for hogs or deer if it came to that...and if deer laws changed...), a 300 BLK to one day run supressed, and either a 16" stainless wylde for fun, or a 6.8 SPC II for deer (although not sure I really NEED another hunting round...). Thought?

As for handguns, looking at the Sig P980 or XdSC 9mm. Would also love to add in an SP2022 someday to the line up. That and a snub nosed 38 should make the collection complete... ish... Still craving a full sized 1911... grin

Was looking at the PSA Freedom uppers, but really want something free floating at the end of the day, I think.

Are you up to building your own uppers? I know BCM tends to run good sales on uppers

Dunno. Seems cheaper to get one already assembled with the parts I want than to build it myself.

My next built AR will be 7.62x40WT best of all worlds or at least as close as you can get.

I will vouch for BCM. I built all my lowers and happened to find a BCM upper cheaper than I could build it. So I went that route. Very happy with the fit finish and quality.

PSA has a bad rep for customer service and slow ship times.
For a plinker or hunting upper I wouldn't shy from a PSA.

Sheer quality, reliability and resale BCM all day long.

Yep if you can find what you want cheaper than you can build then go for it. I'm kinda picky so for my AR I went with a war sport Colette lower and then decided to build from there.

I am partial to BCM. They are one of the best built AR's on the market right now.

The upper I bought from them was the same as filthy 14. Thats the AR Pat Rodgers torture tested by not cleaning it and I They shot around 40,000 rds with one cleaning after about 26,000 rounds. Just lube.

Pats a really good guy and I trust him.

The upper is the heart of an AR. That's where the magic happens. While I prefer a high quality lower the truth is there are only 3 or 4 mass manufacturers. Mnay different names are engraved on the same lowers. With a little research you can find who makes what. Mil Spec is Mil Spec.

I just collected a Lee "Factory Crimp" die for my .375H&H loading. I hope it will allow me to get a workable hold on those big Woodleigh projectiles that I can't seem to manage with a standard RCBS seat die. Never been a fan of the crimp die but I was getting a bit frustrated with the rest. I will load a few up on the weekend and see how it goes.

From what I hear Andy, that is exactly what they are best at. Hope they help.

So does a domed or domed with bearings roller cam pin on a AR BCG really offer any advantages?

Any thoughts on AR pistols? Thinking 300 BLK or 7.62 x 39 for deer hunting out to 100 yards. grin
