I think they both would loose to much energy at that range but I know for a fact (and no I don't work for Wilson) that the 7.62x40WT was designed to carry more energy out of short barrel weapons than the 300 black out and the 7.62x39.

I am sure it soothes it out a bit but it really seams to be a gimmick that will add more cleaning maint. and another hard to find part to replace if you do have issues. Of course I am running a propriety piston driven upper so I guess I shouldn't talk about hard to find parts. LOL

lol well it's more intricate parts but you can always swap back. Idk saw it on Rainier Arms Facebook page and was just wondering. What piston system are you running?

Andy, I have always wanted a 375 H&H. I have no idea why but I want one in a bad way. I have no practical use for it but that is a sweet round with some history behind it.

The biggest animal I hunt is Elk and I do that with a bow.

I run the Adams Arms mid length set up and have been more than happy. The only issue i have with it is it did not cycle steel ammo reliably. Which I hear will clear up after break in but being a reloader I hate using steel as it ends up costing me more because of the lack of reloadable brass.

I have a 300 H&H. Not as big, but more than enough for anything in NA, SA, Australia, Europe, Antarctica, Asia and most of Africa. It'll put a hurt on ya.

I had that same love affair with the 45-70: it won't kill things deader than a 30-06 or anything else I have, but I couldn't rest until I had one or two.

Starting to feel that way about the 300 BLK now...

I love my 45/70. My old Guide Gun is probably my favorite rifle. I don't use it often but I absolutely love the way that thing handles and feels. The 405 grain projectile is kind of nifty as well wink

Fixed your emoticon MB.

Now that I have a 45-70, I find that it DOES kill things deader than anthying else except maybe the 300 H&H...

I guess the moral is: MB, you NEED to get a 375 pronto! Clearly there is a reason you are being prompted to get one. Perhaps an angry rhinoceros is only days away from attacking your home!

LOL, I had the most impressive looking drop I have ever seen on a wild hog that was charging me. I put a 405 grainer in his left ear and dropped him at about 10 feet as he turned off. That thing went down with authority then slid several feet.

I'm sure some of it had to do with how he was turning when I hit him but he went airborne and slid. I was just glad there was a witness or no one would have believed me.

My Guide Gun usually takes at least one or two deer each season now. It's on regular rotation with the two 25-06s, the bolt 30-06, and the Marlin 30-30 XLR. Makes me think I could probably sell off the rest if the rifles... Nah, that's a silly thought...

I shoot Leverevolutions in my Guide Gun. Clover leaves at 100 yards. Never have to track an animal that gets hit, regardless of where I hit it...

I won't sell any of mine if there is any other option. I sold a bunch to get a down payment for my first house. I still regret selling several of those.
