Nice ElF!

I was wanting to do the front sight gas block on my 101 but didnt know just how to go about it. One of the reasons I didn't mind letting my 107 go is that I would actually prefer to have a CR instead. I don't know if I would ever stamp and chop one but it would be nice to have that as an option.

Most def keep us posted...

But... I saw this today.

http://www.thebangswitch.com/the-new-iwi-galil-ace/

If a SCAR and a AK47 had a baby it would look like that.

A couple years ago when I was googling to find the perfect fighting rifle I stopped looking when I found the Galil Ace. But back then there was no indication they would ever be available in the US and the price was insane.

I'm pretty sure I will get one. I would like a last round bolt hold open option but other than that its just too perfect a rifle for me.

GD I THINK I read somewhere it is a 1:9.5 twist and chrome lined. Personally I wouldn't worry. If the Israelis make it, it's gonna be OK.

Ok, so AR barrels: stainless vs chromed vs melanite. Go.

I would take any of those 3 DT in this order melanite, stainless, then chrome. Reason being I run piston guns so I would much rather have the accuracy of the melanite or stainless over the ultimate corrosion resistance of the chrome lined.
