RN, I remember it took me three months to figure out what I had done to the bolt on my Savage .22, all because I had removed the firing pin retainer and put it on backwards... I feel your pain!

Grrrr!!!! SO ANGRY!!!! I got my AR pistol put together but the POS BCG WON'T FIT!!!!!! It's like they took a perfectly fitting BCG and put on WAAAAY too much nickel boron coating! I tried working it back and forth a bit but only managed to get it stuck--had to bang it out with a brass punch! Waste of money! Lesson learned: if it says "PTAC" run the other way!

The BCG from my RRA fit no problem. The PTAC wouldn't fit the pistol OR the RRA. I HATE wasting money on junk that doESN't work. Thing is, I THOUGHT I was ordering a PSA NOT a PTAC at the time. Was looking at both and pushed "buy" on the wrong one.

Can you not send it back stating the coating is to thick for it to function correctly?

I have read that PSA stuff is good but to stay away from PTAC. I have a PSA upper that is great.

Return that thing.

That's just stupid. To make something and not function test it. Moral and ethical issues.

I went with a BCM BCG with phosphate finish and I've had zero problems.They're a great company.

I agree with Ray. My PSA upper receiver group has been perfect.

I sent an angry email to customer service. I bought it at the end of September but didn't get everything together to assemble until Friday. Yeah, I'd heard to stay away from PTAC too, which I thought I had until this thing showed up. Went back to the site and saw "Nope, I inadvertently ordered the wrong one." "Oh well," I thought, "it looks to be made with quality materials. Besides, how badly can you screw up a BCG?" Pretty badly as it turns out! PSA=good. PTAC=POS.

Looking at getting a new hunting rifle. I have my list narrowed down to a Tikka T3 .270 or a Browning X Bolt in .308. Any input from the yard?

More info... I shouldered bot and they both felt great. I like the smooth action on the Tikka but the X Bolt felt more robust and I like the rotary mag. The Tikka should be more accurate out of the box but paper target is just that. In the field either should hit gold at 200 yards.

I like a 308. Bigger bullet, better to fight the forces of nature (wind drift perhaps). Plus it's a 30 cal, not a 27. But that's just me. As Greaser says, Your mileage may vary.
