There are a few good makers who make a 9mm 1911. Not cheap but nice!

First off, let me start by saying "It's a SiG"

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised by others trying to talk me out of getting top the line. wink Randy even mentioned a Keltec as an alternative to a Sig!?!?!? I guess I should have expected that from the Chair Force.

Just because of the size. Don't really know anything about the Sig JJ.

My only concern about a single action that small for self defense is stuff getting between the hammer and the pin while being carried locked and cocked.

Well folks, Patty has been sick all day and is going to bed. I'm gonna go with her and Bella. Y'all have a good one.

Peace and rest to you and all those you care for.

Nothing wrong with a sig as long as it is double action and it doesn't have a safety. wink

Lol, they do have a reputation for being "soldier-proof" which means "idiot-proof", and in today's world, that's a hard thing to come by.

To be fair about the Kel-tec, IMHO, Kel-tec really does make some very good quality for the price firearms, and all of my research on the PF9 (none hands on, sadly) suggests it's a solid contender for the micro compact 9mm market. But, you do get what you pay for. My buddy's Kimber just started having some serious mis-feeds, ironically when he switched to Wilson Combat magazines, (where my 10$ Mec-Gar runs like a machine) so caveat emptor.

Besides, the color and grip options for SiGs are practically limitless. I have a lady friend who is in love with the rainbow anodizing.

I like the Kel-tec for it's size. And no more than I will be shooting it (HOPEFULLY), it should work out ok. I DO have a couple Sigs, a P220 (45acp) and an old out of production P225 single stack 9mm. Of all my guns I think this is my favorite. it is the first sig I ever bought and it was worked over many years ago by one of the premiere "Sig Smiths" John Quintrall. He and Tedwca used to work for a Fruity Computer/phone company but John has since retired his gunsmithing tools.

IF I carry a 9 very often for CCW, it will mostly be the kel-tec, but but Sig will be heavily pushing for the first spot. Now in the 45 category, it will be the Springfield Armory XDs.

I like the Sig 938. I couldn't carry one. Thye are just way too small for my hands.

I'm not a fan of Sigs though. The companies quality control has taken a nose dive. Before anyone gets all butt hurt its just a fact. The old M-11 was the pinnacle. Price to performance with what you get S&W and Glock have them beat. The major reason very few law enforcement agencies carry sigs as duty weapons.

With that said S&W has some major issues to. Glock appears to be getting it's problems taken care of. Fortunately I never ran across their issues.

I have a pretty practical outlook on firearms. First it has to be reliable. I have a rule of thumb that for me to trust a weapon It has to have at least 500 rounds cycled without a hitch. I have to be able to shoot it well. It has to fit my needs, action, size, weight, caliber, capacity etc. Finally I have to like it. If it does the other things I probably like it.
