Had it happen to me once, though it was just a Cold Steel that cost pennies compared to Kin knives.
I do wish I could have seen my own face when airport security asked me if I had a knife in my backpack...

I wasn't shocked. I thought she was crazy. I kept telling her no. She kept searching without finding anything. She said it was near the back and at the bottom of my pack, that is when it hit me ... hidden pocket. He head dropped and I pointed to the zipper. She actually looked sympathetic.

Sorry to hear about your Wardog that blade has become one of my favorites. I had a similar incidence at the airport with a spyderco folder. But I realized I had it on me before security, so I calmly and politely approached a uniformed LE Officer and after a brief conversation I gave him the folder.

RIP WarDog.
