That is the route I'm going, Mike, but with a 1911 frame. Randy already checked it out, but decided the Beretta fit his needs better.

I actually saw a review on that by Hickock45 guys, just didn't do it for me.

Not a fan of the mech tech either. Its a niche gun/accessory. 500 bucks for an "upper" receiver for a glock or a 1911. 400 for the upper then another 35 for a stock adapter then the stock.

That and whether or not it makes the pistol frame questionable as an SBR when its converted back to a pistol on the whim of the ATF.

Actually I have about 1000 rounds of 9mm. BUT about 800 is lead reloads. BUT they should do for target practice and will at least give me trigger time until I buy "The Good Stuff". I'm thinking real hard about Remington Golden Sabres. Yeah I know there are better rounds out there, but I have used the Remington loads off and on several times over the years and liked them. Sides they aren't as expensive as the "Super" loads and that will allow for more ammo!

I was checking the gun out last night at work and found out that the take down pin has a metal (round) shaped spring that fits into detentes inside the lower so that should be ok. Also the mag release is plastic, BUT has a metal insert that actually holds the magazines in the weapon. I had thought about reversing the mag release so that I can activate it with my trigger finger. I'll have to shoot is left handed some and see if my finger causes it to accidentally activate. If it doesn't I might just very well reverse it.

Not many options for us .45 guys, besides those butt-ugly Hi-Points.

And that point you made about the atf is precisely why I'm only getting a completed 1911 frame. I don't own any other 1911 parts.

Spidy: I saw something on the Sierrapapa site about an adapter or something that would allow you to use Beretta cougar mags (45acp) in the Cx4 Storm. They said something about 14-15 round capacity.

OK, never mind. I got my wires crossed. It is an adapter that extends the mags to 15 or 16 rounds and sticks way out the bottom.

Those might've been the ones I was telling you about before. It sounded good, until I saw them and the price. I was disappointed because I would prefer the Beretta.

Well you could always go 40 or 9mm. I really like the 45, but the 9mm with 20 round mags the way I see us using it if ever needed would work fine I think.

You're right, but I'm trying to limit the number of different chamberings in my safe. I already have too many.
