I originally had this in the SOLD thread but didn't want to derail the thread so I deleted it and will add it here.

I know the 45 Vs 9mm by heart, and still like the 45 as even if all you can find is ball ammo, it still will make a 45 cal hole. BUT with the newer 9mm ammo I don't think that it is really lacking that much at handgun range (to me 25 yards), with the CX4 I will stretch this to 50 as Federal told me to expect 1300-1400fps out of the 16inch barrel using their HST3 124 grain bullets.

Shot placement

Shot placement

I'd chose one well placed 380 over two poorly placed 45. Remember, almost all of the common handgun cartridges are underpowered. The 5.56 (62gr traveling 2900fps) gets criticisms often about not stopping adequately...

Being able to place two rounds center-of-mass instantly at 10 yards followed by one to the head is a recipe for success. Choose your sidearm according to your ability to complete this drill.

IF ever needed, that's the plan. IF I can think of it.

How do you feel about a pelvis shot?

Boiler Room or Computer Room.

Shut down the power plant / shut down the threat

Randy,
Train to instinctually shoot for center mass. It's the biggest target, and has a high success rate for stopping assault.

Part of why I now carry 9mm critical duty is because of how much faster and accurate my follow up shots are compared to my 40S&W

I do, but being in LE we were (not active duty any more) trained to go center mass, but NOT do a kill shot if not needed. We were taught about the Pelvis shot as a disabling "tool" that may not be fatal.

The femoral artery runs thru the pelvic region.

20 seconds to loss of mental dexterity
30-45 seconds to loss of consciciouness
45-60 seconds to death

Any CLS or Medics may want to revise my timeline.

I don't want to hurt anyone but if somebody puts me in a position I have to pull the trigger I'm not worry about wounding. I'm going to stop the threat as quickly as possible.

I agree with you GD, not to mention it is the largest "target area". I just wanted to see what was thought of regards the Pelvic Girdle shot. Personally I don't think I would ever go for that. If your shot is to low you might miss everything.
