'Merica, that's why!

Realistically, I'm a hunter / outdoorsman. I never go anywhere without blade...and I prefer smaller, thinner blades than Busse / SYKCO offer for processing animals. I look at Busse family blades as survival blades...great quality tools intended to survive harsh environments and treatment.

I asked the question because it's a nebulous issue for me. I still have my first knife...it was given to me by my father 34 years ago. I too have an addictive personality and amass things. Knives? I'm just "drawn" to them.

I like to bling out my operater pack with them.

In all seriousness, I previously bought some thinking they would have certain uses but then most just end up sitting there. I have thinned the heard and now only have 4 fixed blades left with one on the way and they all get used or serve a purpose. Same with folders. I rotate between two sak's. That is all I really need.

BALLAST! I don't know about you, but I carry around enough natural ballast for two or three people! But I'm working on it.

It may seem like an inane question, but I'm genuinely curious as to why we're here.

I think many (myself included) could simply answer "addicted".

What the ROMRLSPGE above said. It's a sickness. BUT one that won't get you killed, unless you make a rude commend about the Fox across the room in front of her husband. THAT will get you killed, or at least messed up pretty bad. smile wink

But I would trade my Fat Ash for a Skinny one in a heart beat. wink

So many directions to go with that....

Suffice it to say that your big shapely ASH is better than us freaks without any ASH at all...
