I also ALMOST went for the 5.7 in the form of a PS90 more than once. Ultimately, a $1400 gun that shoots $1/round ammo with 22WMR ballistics didn't happen for me. I'm glad too.

I remember my foray into 7.62x39mm AR15s back in the 1990's when Colt released their version. Nothing makes you happier than a self destructing single shot AR15 that cost over than $1000 (which was a lot in the early 1990's).

I could easily get by with:

22 Long Rifle

380 Acp
9mm
10mm

5.56x45mm
7.62x51mm

In all likelihood I'll end up getting out of 357M and 45Acp.

The rifle is at my FFL. Will be headed by there in a little bit...

I also agree with Andy about the 308Win. To my mind, it is about the most versatile round available especially when using a bolt action (that can handle heavier handloads).

I would've felt a bit better about the purchase if it was the .308 version which was actually reviewed but Nutnfancy. But I decided I would give the .300wsm a whirl. I may just be spinning my wheels as I still haven't ruled out a .308 or .270 bolt gun down the road.

I remember going in a shop to buy some .40 ammo. They had the same brand .40 on one shelf and 9mm another. One was $14.99 and the other $9.99. That's was pretty much the end of .40 S&W as a go to round for me.

I was just punching paper and cans. It wasn't worth it.

And here I go again... banghead

laugh
