I checked them out and saw the similar lock styles. The knives did look really nice. Oh and thank you for the guns compliment.

Since 1977 I have had a 45 of one sort or another. I have had

Llama, wasn't the best in the world but all I could afford a the time.

Colts, officers , full size (2), Commander size. I REALLY like the commander size. I know folks talk about the full size being better as it was JMB's original design, but for me the Commander is a handier size, packs better and just balances better (feeling) to me.

Springfield Armory V10 Ultra Compact. NICE gun, but if you shot it close to your body you would be minus some skin or at least shredded clothes. Those 10 holes in the top of the barrel worked but man would it blow out some hot air. AND if it was dark you (not the shooter, but on lookers) would see twin V shaped cones of fire shooting out the top.

Ruger SR1911 CMD Stainless Steel. This one is my favorite even though it is kinda heavy. I belt carry it in a Galco V-Hawk IWB holster. I am thinking about one day getting a Milt Sparks VM2 (Versa Max 2) IWB holster for it. The VM2 I have for my Sig is SWEET!

What do you guys think about S&W 5906? Iīm about to buy a 9mm for IDPA SSP and those S&Ws are cheap even here where everything is expensive!

I had one of those way back in the early 1980's and it wasn't a bad gun. I mainly didn't like that opposite (to me) operating safety. Other than than that it wasn't bad. Although I DID like my single stack version of that pistol better. Just fit my hand better than the wide body.

Josh, that Ganzo Firebird model F7551 isn't a bad looking blade. I bet it would be a fairly good skinner and would make a pretty good kitchen knife as well.

OK. There is a SIG P220 in 9mm for the same price. Itīs a 9 shooter but respected pirtol. I like the 5906 more: it has that 80īs wonder nine glamour! grin

I have a 6906 and think that series is one of the finest ever made! Accurate, all metal, and a joy to shoot. A bit wider than most, but it works well.

The short answer, obviously, is to buy both grin

I have a P229 LEO trade in coming that I picked up for $340 shipped with tax.

I have a P226 with Crimson Trace grips. Bought it used. The "melonite" on the stainless barrel all flaked off and there seems to be just a little slop in it, but still one of my favorites.

I like the Commander 1911 as well, Randy. It conceals easier and fits the hands nicely. I have a basic Springfield 1911 in that configuration. My next handgun will (hopefully) be a RIA Full Size 1911 Ultra in 45... Though I still REALLY want one that size (or with a 6") for hunting. A moderate-to-high 357 load or lower end 41 mag in an 8-round pistol. Makes me happy just thinking about it grin

grin Well ofcourse ! But again itīs the budjet that is restricting me... i`ve heard much good about those 3rd gen S&Ws. And I have a tendency to do things different than others, so propably I wonīt be buying a glock or cz.

I once had a Ruger Redhawk (again WAY back in the early 80's) that I really liked. It was a Beast, but shot well. I got an assignment to Japan and when I got back I traded it for a Colt officers Model 45. I shoulda kept it.
