Absolutely! The LMT CQB/MRP/MWS system is (IMHO) the best on the market!

I've been considering a 6.5CM for mine as well.

Ironic. The LMT MWS is the god of AR10s.

PPU = Prvi Partizan ammo.

I really like the CQB/MRP/MWS ... MARS system ...

For El Randerno ...

LMT CQB ... Lewis Machine & Tool 5.56MM (and related cartridges) Close Quarters Battle SHORT Chassis system (monolithic AR upper system that has quick change barrels)
LMT MRP ... Lewis Machine & Tool 5.56MM (and related cartridges) Monolithic Rail Plaform LONG Chassis system (monolithic AR upper system that has quick change barrels)
LMT MWS ... Lewis Machine & Tool 7.62MM (and related cartridges) Modular Weapon System Chassis system (monolithic AR upper system that has quick change barrels)

LMT MARS ... Lewis Machine & Tool Modular Ambidextrous Rifle System-Light lower receiver assembly (fully ambi-dextrous).

The rifle pictured in this post is a MARS-CQBMLOK16

MARS lower
CQB length chassis upper
MLOK system instead of 1913 system
16" barrel

LMT's nomenclature is actually very intuitive once you get the basics down.

ETA: the pictured rifle is factory finished in titanium cerakote.

Randy, great idea. That is one of the recommended fixes on some of the forums I've visited. I striped the bolt and the body is clean / burr free. I could have a few thousands milled off the FP shoulder to give it a little extra primer penetration (force the FP to strike the primer anvil) but I'd be worried about peircing other non Wolf primers. I'm just going to remember to not TRUST that particular rifle with Wolf ammo. Wolf will be range only in the Gunsite Scout. Hunting will have to be US made brass case.

Nice! I don’t have any of the LMT small frame guns. I snagged a South American green over run LMT last spring after wanting an LMT for 10yrs

Those green SA guns were a suburb deal! By the time I read about them on an AR forum they were already sold out. Did your gun have the standard lower or the MARS?

I haven't owned a large format MARS.

Honestly, the ambi deal is a little overblown. Unless you're left handed and ALL of your ARs are identical you're going to have muscle memory issues. I use my MARS guns like regular ARs, but do think it is a better design than the original one-sided.

If you get a chance to pick up a 5.56 CQB/MRP gun I highly recommend it. The New Zealand carbine looks super neat, but the 1913 CQB (and especially MRP) are pretty heavy with LMT's barrel profile. My MARS CQB-MLOK (pictured) is lightweight enough to serve as a general purpose carbine. I gave up on the "forward dog collar hold" that was hyper popular on the internet because it causes arm fatique quickly so I don't need 12 inches of "rail space". Plus, the only think I mount on the front of my guns ... front sight, light, and MAYBE a handstop of some sort. This doesn't take a lot of "rail estate".

I've been selling off my collection because after a ton of testing and evaluation I decided the LMT MRP system is the best combat rifle on earth.

ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO I sold off all of my Class 3: Broadhead Sten Mk5 with Original Wood FVG, MK760, H&R M50, Inland M2 Carbine, Group Industries UZI, etc.

MANY YEARS AGO I sold off all of my "preban collection": HK91, HK93, HK94, Daewoo K1, Daewoo K1A1, Beretta AR70, Valmet M76, Valmet M76T, Galil ARM, MAADI, Norinico 56S, Norinco 56S-1, Norinco 84S, Norinco 84S-1, ArmaLite AR-180, Steyr AUG 905 Series, Polytech AK, Yugo AK, Robinson M96, Sterling Mk6.

ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO I sold off all of my "modern AK47 collection": Arsenal SLR106s, Arsenal SGL-21s, Arsenal SAM-7s, etc.

ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO I sold off all of my piston AR15s: Adams Arms AA-15, LWRC M6A1, LWRC M6A2, LWRC M6A3, LWRC M6SL, LWRC IC, LWRC IC Enhanced, LWRC IC SPR, LWRC Spiral IC, POF P15 Minuteman, POF P415 Puritan, etc.

LAST YEAR I sold all of my Springfield M1As, Original Imbel SAR-48s, AUGs, Tavors, CZ Brens, Robinson XCRs, Masterpiece MPARs, Sig MCXs (still have one to sell), Galil SARs, FN SCAR-16s, FN SCAR-17s, Beretta ARX100s, Bushmaster ACRs, FN 2000, Sig 556s, Sig 556XI, etc.

NOW I'm selling (almost) all of my non-LMT ARs: BCM, Colt, Daniel Defense (keeping 2 of these for my wife), Palmetto State Armory.

Man Gary. You've been busy! You could have supplied our whole Sheriffs department and still had some firearms left over.

Personally, unless you are a collector, I think getting rid of guns, pairing it down to what you actually might need and a couple spares, is a good idea. Less confusion and more money for retirement.

EXACTLY!

I went through several "collector phases" but each time I ended up with a bunch of rare guns I was afraid to handle and didn't want to shoot a lot. Then I'd "get serious" and buy a bunch of modern stuff. Later I'd get nostalgic and would sell the modern stuff to buy prebans again. Each time I was losing money.

A couple of years ago I just became obsessed with retiring and decided to spend time evaluating all of my guns. In the end, I found the LMT ARs to be the best for my uses. I started selling everything off and investing the money in retirement accounts.
