Decisions decisions decisions. Can’t carry a gun to the Dr’s office in St Louis. So, what do I carry? It will be one of my Emerson’s or one of my Spiderco’s I’m sure. I would like to carry my pimped out my Benchmade Bailout (carbon fiber scales, titanium hardware), but I want something more robust than the 0.90 thick blade. And no, can’t carry a fixed blade. In Missouri as a CCW holder I Can Carry a fixed blade concealed. BUT the same restrictions apply as for a firearm.

Now a “common pocket knife” as long as the blade is less than 4 inches long can be carried in “firearm” prohibited areas, meaning Hospitals, Dr office etc. In Missouri a pocket knife (see restrictions above) can be carried legally pretty much anywhere as they are not considered a weapon. RsMo Statute 571.101-121. grin (yes, I worked in law enforcement for 25 years), and I did go through the SEMO Police Academy and was POST certified for about 4 years before I let it lapse because I couldn’t get in all the continuing education hours required. Plus I wasn’t working as a road officer that last year.

And as an aside I will be carrying my Cane Masters Personal Protection Fight, er ah I mean Ambulatory aid. Let’s just say you can really tear someone up with that thing. Or I could use my Irish Blackthorn stick. With all the little “nubs” it has it wouldn’t feel good to be on the receiving end of that either.

Are the knife and Cane as good as a gun, of course not. But they are a lot better than going empty handed. When the Socialists give you restrictions, use their own laws against them. grin wink

In areas like that I leave my pistol in my car or truck, but always have my 6" bladed CS Voyager XL. The General keeps a Scrapper 5 in her purse; what a gal.! She is in Illinois and has her Ruger EC 9 with her. smile

I read a report that 80 percent of stolen firearms are taken from vehicles.
Just be careful with that CS knife Tom. I even checked with our County Prosecutor he also said a “pocket knife” with over a 4 inch blade was treated just like a firearm as far as carry restrictions go. You can carry it, concealed, but would need a CCW to do so legally. I’ve got a CS with a serpentine serrated 6 inch blade.

The knife laws here are more restrictive than yours. A person can carry either a folding or fixed blade but the knife cannot have a blade length longer than 3”. Do you know that many nice folders are slightly longer than that? Frustrating!

I'm taking a short break from mowing the grass; it's hot out there.

We must be doing something right, the “administration” is suing Missouri over the SAPA law.

Good morning Yard. I got all the mowing done yesterday so I'm taking it easier today. Going to town for a headlight for my truck and then to check out a new place to board dogs.

Evening dogs!

Klink, Skunk. I saw this today and thought you would get a kick out of it.

Did you ever wonder why Spring fields seal has snake that looks suspiciously like a Cobra?
