If I wrapped everything in aluminum foil, I wouldn’t have any left for my hats!

Yeah you got to ALWAYS wear your tinfoil hat ray. UNLESS, like one lady told me at work one night, “They” found a way around that. I just told her to come on in and I would give her some complaint forms (she turned in about 1 a week). “They” we’re watching her you know.

Emerson Sheepdog folder (mini Spearpoint version). It’s a really nice Carry size. I also have the Bowie bladed version but to me it just doesn’t look right with the small blade.

And yes, I am heavily concentrating on folders. Here in Missouri a folder with less than a 4 inch blade is not considered a weapon, meaning you can carry an “common folding knife” everywhere, whereas a fixed blade you can not. You can carry a fixed blade concealed IF you have a CCW permit, but the restrictions for firearm carry also apply to fixed bladed knives.

NOW I am looking for a nice walking staff between 55-60 inches long to use walking. I’ve found that for me a “staff” is a lot better to keep me from falling when my body decides to shoot lightening bolts through my back thereby causing me to fall. It just gives me something longer to grab onto keeping me more upright.

I’ve found a lot of sticks, but I want something with a little “character” to it. In other words not just a plain old straight stick.

Randy, a taller walking stick IS the better choice ; I found that out while recovering from my knee replacements. wink

I hear ya Tom. I had been using my canes and they did OK. BUT when “I ride the lightening” I had to actually bend over to get both hands on the top of the cane. With a longer stick (I have one now with a twisted top) is 51 inches. I need one at least 55 as I think that would work out best for me. It’ll come to about the base of my throat, not to long and not to short.

I favor a 6' stick, good support and makes a decent weapon if needed. wink

I had thought a bought a 6ft stick and for just walking around I agree with you. But for one i will be constantly using, and after using both lengths, the 55 inch is just the right height for me to grab the top of when I am setting down (I actually have a crook topped cane that height) and it’s just right.

Randy, there is a device that can turn your 6 ft stick into a 55” stick very easily. It’s called a saw.

Thanks Ray! Haha, I actually have a 6ft and a 5ft stick and they are nice for just generally walkin around and I like them both. One is the Cherry stick my Dad made for me from Patty’s Dad’s sawmill. The other one is one that’s kinda sorta twisted or “kinked” a little. And I have an actual regular looking cane but it’s 63 inches tall! Well that’s the one I cut to 55 inches and it’s just right for the way I use it for walking/support. While setting it’s just the right height to grab with both hands on the crook and help pull myself up.

Randy, I'm glad that you settled on the staff that is right for you. It really sucks to try and walk or get up out of a chair when you're hurting.

Tell me about it. I don’t need it to get up most of the time, but if I’m setting without a back rest, ho boy.
