I just left the Scrap Yard forums and those guys are commenting on the lack of activity there, both in terms of postings and steel. The Scrapyard section on Bladeforums is a dead indian too, although Scrap Yard has had some knives available lately. In fact, there are a couple of models available now I believe.

are you certain you're not thinking about the swamp rat forums?

totally understandable, willie. you get the yard on the brain, and start making freudian slips left and right.

it didn't have a rescue blade, older model? I did switch out the scissors on my SOG with a rescue blade, and it's great! If you could only interchange tools on the Swisstool, it would be "Swiss-Uber-Tool!"

ooh, forgot that, thanks scrappy, (that's why she wanted it!) we haven't tried it out yet (the blade) so I can't answer. It's been a year!

The 18 inch Ang Khola must have been nice. I have a 15 incher and it's a bit small to be an effective chopper. However, it was made by Sgt. Khadka and it is the chiruwa (full tang) handle style. The kuks I really like are those from Tora in Britain. Tora stives for historical accuracy and the workmanship, like HI's, is first rate.
my 18" hi will out chop any knife i have. the tora models look more expensive from what i have seen. are they?

It'd be just my luck if I missed something important tonight, being my 5 year anniversary and all. Perhaps she won't notice me staring frozen and bug-eyed at the computer screen for a few hours once again this week!

Congrats ScrapperHound! My wife and I celebrated our 4th anniversary this past 9/20/07, a day before you! I got a neck knife at the blade show. I am sure a knife is in the works for you!
