I tried to tag "I will not give up my right to carry" but I'm sure it won't get past the moderator. At least he'll get to read it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I admit that I pledged not to carry a knife.
Instead I pledged to carry more than one knife. In addition I plan on carrying my Sig Sauer, spare magazines, and lastly lip balm.

A taste of things to come? I'm doing my part to make carrying a "knife designed for self defense" lawful for carry by ordinary citizens in GA, and to clean up some conflicting and ridiculous knife laws here. State Senator Jeff Chapman has got them going in Atlanta, the home of the largest knife show in the nation, if not the world. He has been working on that and some concealed carry issues. He agrees with me that law abiding citizens have the right to be armed for self-defense in most places, with blades and pistols!
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Luckily here in Florida we're alowed to carry just about anything as our CCW law specifically states weapons, e.g., guns, knives, batons, pepper spray, stun guns etc....

I went to the trouble to make the same pledge as Diceman and named it "no more nannystate" but seriously doubt it will get posted. They only have 51 tags so far so I suggest posting this link a few more places.
Ewan Macgregor has decided to leave the UK because of the whole insne nannystate fascism. Unfortunatly most people there do not have the option.

Luckily here in Florida we're alowed to carry just about anything as our CCW law specifically states weapons, e.g., guns, knives, batons, pepper spray, stun guns etc.... That is one of the changes we are trying to make, in addition to allowing the carry of a pocket knife by all non-felons, instead of three different definitions of what is a legal knife to carry concealed, as the laws are now. Technically, as the law is now, a blade of 2" or more can be considered unlawful to carry since it is classified as a weapon. But in the commission of a crime, the maximum length of a knife blade must not exceed 3", or additional charges can be made. And no person, except judges, cops, and other government officials may carry any knife "designed for the purpose of offense or defense" in a concealed manner. It's nuts!

Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, "I am strong!" - Joel 3:10
Or as Jesus said:
He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. - Luke 22:36
In other words, it’s better to be armed and cold without a coat, than to be comfortable and defenseless.
