I was about to go and reprofile my Scrapper 6 LE when I noticed that the tip was slightly bent. Hard to tell, but it's there. I guess it got bent while throwing it? Strange that this would happen to such a tough knife.
Should I try to bend it back, or is there a chance it has a defective heat treat?

i bet dan will set this right. i'd try my hand at fixing it for lack of wanting to part with it for however long it would take to repair/replace.

I would stick it in a vise and bend it back then if I really screwed it up I would not feel so bad about sending it back.

i would send it back, its probably a heat treat issue, and bending it back would probably make it more weak.

Rat you are a brave man for throwing a knife with a super bouncy rear end like that.. Glad it didn't come straight back at ya! I'd pm Dan with pics and a description of the problem and get his feedback, I'd not bend it back myself incase it's 'work hardened' so weakened..

I use my CG S6 as a thrower alot and never had much trouble with it bouncing...Course I am pretty far back

I have never had any problem with my Res C knives bouncing back, and I used a Battle Rat as a designated thrower for thousands of throws. Maybe if I was standing 3 feet away.
I guess I will drop them an email sometime.

My Mutt came back PAST me the first time I tried throwing it from about 20 feet. I'll never do that again!!! I must just be doing something wrong. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I never miss." <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I had plenty of misses with handle strikes on my Battle Rat, but it never came back more than a few feet. Probably the added weight prevents extreme bounces.
