There was a 5.6 earthquake about half an hour ago, it lasted for a while, with a lot of rumbling, and several sharp jolts. I've been in a lot worse (I've been oddly "lucky" to be in several major temblors in several cities), but this one was enough to get my attention.

In under 10 seconds, I had grabbed my external mirror hard drive, my PSK, my crash axe, and my Scrapper 6, and gotten myself standing in a doorway.

After I was in the big Santa Cruz quake in 89, there were more than 4,000 aftershocks in the following several weeks. Quite an experience!

In 10 seconds I would be lucky to say "dude is your phone on vibrate".

I have never been through an actual earthquake, but I would imagine it's like being out in the boonies during an arc-light mission! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

That, or being next to a road where the Second (tank heavy) Brigade, 1AD rolled out in the '70s. The ground shook for hours.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
